Blue River Mill -- Good Stuff!

This is a playhouse my brother-in-law built. I think what he makes is so amazing, I wanted to share it with everybody who reads this blog. http://www.themorningsun.com/articles/2008/12/28/business/srv0000004364349.txt Click on this link to read a story about Kevin's business

Christmas Past and Christmas Present

Moving Day!

Wouldn't you know it! The Shaws picked THIS week to move. This part of the country hasn't seen snow like this for over 40 years....and we're closing in on that record, too! If you sent a Christmas card, we probably won't get it for a while, as the highways are closed and the USPS is not getting or receiving mail (interestingly enough both FedX and UPS delivered yesterday....hum....). But, hey, it seemed like a good weekend to move! This is Dan shoveling off the carport

Let's All Go For A Walk

We ended up at the park...

...Amya begged to go down the slide too! Dan wasn't up for that!

Stir Crazy!!!

Amya and I have been "trapped" at the house this week! (it's been a little hard for Dan to take the moped to work lately) We've had to get creative out of disparity!

The Snowy Day

The Snowy Walk

Some roads around here are too steep to plow. So, when it snows, the signs go up!...only warmer weather clear these roads.

Amya and I took a walk today to check out the view, since Dan told us how beautiful his drive in was this morning.

While I was looking up, taking pictures of the scenery, I noticed the pink and red blob at the bottom of my view finder getting smaller. By the time I caught up with her, she'd made it to the next sign...good thing this road was closed!
...do you think she had any interest in walking back up the hill?...

winter commute

The sun was out this morning on my way into work and it was pretty spectacular with the new snow...

Beans, Beans. The Magical Fruit....

Our First Snow Of The Season!

We've been telling Amya for the past week that it is going to snow! Last night when we put her in bed, we told her when she woke up there would snow on the ground. This morning, we propped her up beside the front door, barely awake and opened the door. Her face lite up and she ran out!!!...in her pajamas! Then she sat down in it and said, "Snowman!"

After church, we bundled her up, like a fluffy pink snowbaby, and let her go at it!

Then it was back inside for hot chocolate!

Skype, Go Ahead. Everybody's Doing It!

I love to skype with people. It is fun. It's like talking on the phone, but free and with a picture. Everybody really should do it. (this is a picture I took of Kara and I skyping)

!Party!

Amay went to a birthday party today...her first! She had loads of fun. At this age, you can measure fun by the extent of the melt down at the end of the party. Amya had A LOT OF FUN!
...mmmm cupcakes...
