Today in church we kept Amya with us for the praise and worship portion because she seemed to be very intrigued with the auditorium lately. She immediately wanted to play with the pencils in the pew in front of us, so I started drawing swirls on a piece of paper to keep her quiet during the prayer. Wouldn't you know it....she started blowing really loud and laughing!

Window Display
If you were visiting us in October than you may recognise this window, but not the new display. This is the window that had a cat painted on it. Every time we pulled into the parking lot (grocery store), Amya would start meowing and we had to walk by this store so she could see the cat. Well, the cat is gone! Now it is this beautiful cloud! Amya has made her peace. Now she asks to see the cloud by blowing really loud.

A New Tradition
We decided to start a new "day after Thanksgiving" tradition, while we live here in the gorge. We will go to the White Salmon Glassworks and blow a Christmas ornament (literally), then head over to Everybody's micro-brew restaurant for a bite.
Our first time was quit fun! Although it was a little nerve racking trying to keep Amya from breaking all the glass on display!
Ahhh! Blood pressure is rising! This is the process!
Heating up the glass
Rolling it in colored glass shards to achieve the desired color (this year it was "cranberry with snow")
Blowing the bulb (Amya wasn't interested in trying this)
Attaching the loop
Ta-Da!.............................................
Everybody's!

(oh, by the way, Amya insisted on wearing her tu-tu that night)
playing shuffleboard
Amya was fascinated with this little girl that was wearing a red cape. I guess if you're going to wear your tu-tu to a restaurant, you shouldn't point fingers!Happy Thanksgiving!

Wednesday night we had Kristen, Greg and Sadie over...

...then we went over to their house on Thursday.

A Thanksgiving meal table for two! (they didn't last long here, but it is funny to think they might have)
Dancing and marching off the dinner!
I've got to get better at aiming my camera away from small children, so you can see the "other" people we hang out with. But they're just so cute! I mean, look at that picture of Sadie and Amya sitting on the stuffed bear! PLEASE!
(opps! I didn't even take that!)

The Tree
Yes, it may be a bit early to be picking out a Christmas tree (this became obvious to us when we saw what few choices we had), but we are probably moving in mid to late December (just across the river), so we thought we should get a head start on things. (As much as I try to make it sound normal that we already have our Christmas tree up, keep in mind that I start listening to Christmas music the day after Halloween!)

This combination makes for a messy floor!

Sadie And Amya Go Shopping
Amya and her friend, Sadie, spent the day shopping yesterday. The moms went along to chaperon! They had a blast looking at the Christmas displays in Target, dancing to the music in Old Navy (they even roped in another kid to have a dance party with them), and playing hid-n-seek in The Children's Place. I don't know how much shopping they actually got done. It's a good thing they got Sadie's mom to chauffeur because they were both passed out in the back seat on the way home!
