Once Upon A Time...We Went To Michigan!

We celebrated Thanksgiving early in Michigan with the Nelsons and Priests! There were mobs of kids, lots of food, and great entertainment!

Here are some pictures to prove it!

Big cousin painting little cousins' nails

Willow was our official photographer! She got some really good shots. Who doesn't want to smile for that cute little girl?!

We also spent a couple days in Detroit with Aunt Page and family. But do you think I took out my camera even once? No! Too bad, too. My cousin, Selah's kids are absolutely adorable!!

Hot Tubbin'!

Cuddling

There was plenty of time for cuddling with babies!!

Oh No She Didn't!

I've been slacking on the blog lately! I have many good pictures coming....
But first:
We hosted a Pre-Thanksgiving appetizer pot-luck last week. There were mobs of kids playing on the living room floor. As always, Amya's pants were dragging in the back. I called out to her, "I see baby butt-crack!" (mistake).
This is what I usually say when her pants are dragging. I just didn't factor in the fact that Amya loves attention! The pants were quickly dropped to the floor, exposing her rear end to all the other kids, while she sang, "Stinky butt-crack!". And, of course, mooning you friends is a contagious thing, sooooooo..................

Amya's First Ski Adventure!

We took Amya to a local ski resort, with our friends, the Petersons, to see if she might like sliding around in the cold white stuff. On the drive up to the mountain she kept saying, "I'm so essited! Look at all the snow! Is is beautiful?" We didn't quite know what to expect from her but she seemed interested, so....

...getting fitted for skis (the smallest they had) and geared up!

And they're up!

...up the magic carpet...down the hill with Daddy!

On her own!

Back inside for a snack, hot cocoa and story!
So, what did Amya think of skiing? Just watch the next post!...

An Evening Of Trick-Or-Treating!

**I just noticed that Dan and Amya have the same smile**
We were very proud of Amya! She wasn't afraid or intimidated at all. She marched right up to the shop owners and either said, "trick-or-treat" or "happy Halloween!"...and even remembered her P's and Q's. We even ran into another Flower. Amya thought that was funny.

Dan got more attention than anyone! When we went out to eat afterwards, the waitress said she couldn't serve him beer! Dan said his doctor told him he could have four "drinks" during pregnancy, and he was going to have them all that night!

We think Amya and Kailey would like to go trick-or-treating every weekend!

Happy Birthday Charlie!

We love you and miss you! You are getting so big!

A Change Of Heart!

We got home today from trick-or-treating at Dan's work, and Amya looked up at me and said, "I love Halloween and trick-or-treating!!"

I thought so.

Pretty Cool

So, I was surfing by brother's work blog today (man, that dude is smarts), and I found this map. Pretty cool stuff.
I agree with all the places I've lived, except the current one. I can't really think of anybody around here that uses the word "pop", but then again, most people I know aren't from around here (and nobody really drinks the stuff when there is such good beer and wine here!).
Thanks John! This was fun!
Here is John's smart stuff blog http://idvux.spaces.live.com/ if you want to check it out.

Amya's New Profession

HAIR STYLIST! Gone is the angled bob. Now Amya (by her own hand) is sporting bangs.

When I left the house yesterday evening she was wearing two ponytails in the front of her hair, per her request! She loves wearing TWO ponytails, not just one.
When I got home, she was not.

Apparently, she was cutting paper with scissors and her ponies had gotten loose and were flopping in her eyes, obstructing her view. So they had to go. Dan was busy making my birthday brownies, but caught her after the first one got lopped. Had he taken the scissors away then, she would have still had one.
But he didn't. He was laughing too hard.
She was quit proud of herself and couldn't understand why it was not ok. At least she did a good job! I didn't even have to even it out.
