Homemade and Good!

We aren't really big on New Year's Resolutions, but we do have the tendency to "get into stuff".  Right now we are focusing on "homemade"...you know, like how everything was done a generation or two ago, before we needed fast and convenient.  Don't get me wrong, I love to simplify things!

But lately I feel like simplifying the grocery bill!  Homemade mac-n-cheese (or moose and cheese, thanks to Ikea) takes no more time, but is fresher, tastes better and is cheaper!
We just started baking our own bread...still very new, lots to learn.  Making pizza crust was pretty simple.  We love to have pizza and movie family nights....now we make the pizza instead of buying it!
The fun part is that we can make about 5 personal pizzas with one crust recipe....
...so everyone gets to create their own.  Tonight it was kale and tempe!
YUM!!

You didn't grow up with boxed mac and cheese. I think the trip to Alaske in the moter home taught me about thoes box foods. Remember the boxes of Hamburger Helper we stored under the beds??

Pizza looks great! I remember baking our own bread when Danny and Tracy were little...about the same age as Amya and Nelson are now! It's a great thing to do in the winter...nothing better than the aroma of fresh baked bread!
(and you're right...it does save a lot of money...plus its fun)
