Home Tour: Living Room/Kitchen/Dinning Room

I recently had a request to photograph some of our house.  It occurred to me that half of our family and lots of our friends have never been to our house {   :(   }
So, here we go!
It might take me a few posts.  I'm starting with the living room, kitchen and dinning room because those were the cleanest! (after each picture was taken, the kids picked up their toys and moved them into the next room...so this house never actually looks like it does in these pictures!)
My dad painted this room three times last winter (thank you, Daddy!) when my parents were visiting because I just couldn't pick the right color.  We are "lightening" it up from the overdose of beige that is was.  Third time was a charm!
I still have our snowflakes hanging up on the wall!   We haven't decided what to do with that wall yet, so they can stay.  They are happy little snowflakes.

At the end of the living room is the foyer, where our computer and desk live.  You can see almost half of it in this picture, and half of the front door.  I'm thinking about painting the foyer the same color as the living room (it is beige right now) and the front door the same as the trim.  Any thoughts?
 *************************************************************************
Here is our 1950's kitchen!...metal cabinets and all!  I'm testing paint swatches on the walls, trying to decide how to "de-beige" this room.  I love all white kitchens, but I don't know if it would work here.  I had to lighten these photos because our kitchen does not get much light!  The beige must go!

 ****************************************
This is our lovely yellow dinning room!  It used to be green (look at the trim in the corner above the wood stove), and it wasn't a bad color...just dark, and the green trim made it feel even darker.  I love the color now!
Our dinning room opens into the kitchen and the living room (as you can see in this photo).  The green metal cart is a restored thrift store find.  (Can you spot Amya's "hording shelf"?)
And there you have it!...3 rooms down!

Love it!!! The color in the living room is great. I think your foyer should be a fun color because it's a small space and you can easily change it when you get "sick" of the color. Perhaps a lightish teal or turquoise? You can make accent pillows for your couch and a new fun throw for the chair and the foot stool with the color you choose and it will bring it into the living room. Both those colors would look great with the green couch.
I think a nice dull black looks great on a door especially with the trim around the door being white.
A couple ideas for the wall the snowflakes are on: You can put a rustic large mirror up, or by a huge canvas and have the kids "piccaso" it with colors that you want. Or you can do it yourself. I know you're a talented artist.
I'm planning on covering a huge canvas with scrap fabric and adding one of my favorite bible verse on that and cover with mod podge. That could be something you can do as well. Maybe your favorite saying, poem, quote or whatever or just fabric.
Maybe to brighten up the kitchen you have to vertical or horizontal 4-5 inch thick white stripes on top of the color you have now., so you would still have your comfortable beige and the pop of white you like. I really like the color in the kitchen. Maybe a cool throw rug with colors you want to bring into the kitchen with brighten it as well. It's amazing what A little rug can do to a room.
The dining room is such a "Carol" color. Very pretty. I bet you have lots of fabric that you can put together a patchwork table runner that will bring a pop of color in that room as well.
So jealous about the green thrifted cart. So jealous. Love the "hording" shelf. Every kid has one. although we have several!
Anyhoo, you house look great. You really don't have to do another thing to it, those were just fun suggestions.
Thanks for posting. ;)
