1)...you get to work and there is a health fair. You go to the acupuncture booth, get pepper seeds taped inside your ear at the points that represent the fetal heart, in your symbolic fetal shaped ear, then go back to your cubical to get some serious work done!
2)...you take your kid to an early afternoon movie, and after the movie you have to resort to licence plate number identification to locate your white Subaru wagon in the parking lot.
3)...after the movie, you sheepishly take your toddler to the local micro brewery to enjoy a little adult beverage and pizza. When you arrive, it appears the local brewery ranks second, only to the library story hour, as the most popular place for kids to meet other kids.
4)...on the menu at the afor mentioned "restaurant", your pizza toppings rang from pears to pepitos, from salmon to sweet potatoes.
...all in a day in Oregon!

I don't know what happened to the other comment I made about this.. the idea was that it made me miss/remember North Western quirks. That got me thinking...
What about-
How "dress cloths" can be purchased at your local REI, or other outdoor store..
Your glared at if your drinking out of anything but a re-usable bottle/ mug
the "in" look for men is Robert Redford in Jerimiah Johnson.. beard, longish hair, mountain clothes and unshowered, dusty
do you guys have cowboys-- real hats, with the tight tight jeans? that may be more Montana:)
dont even think about wearing fur....unless you've hunted, and skinned/tanned it by youself
Saturday am everyone is at the local farmers market, eating at cafe's or shopping at the organic food store... before the hiking/biking climbing starts:) Ahhh, I miss it all!
